because that would be too much work for the programmers.
Common sense = too much effort.

In defense of the programers, that would have given you way to much control over your environment and been waaaay against the point.

It's true. I think 75% of the doors in that game were unenterable.

I wish they could make another one that could live up to this and 3 again.
The Room was pretty bad, and so was Homecoming.
Downpour is pretty decent... I still need to finish it though.

The Room tends to get a free pass cause it was by Team Silent.
Lemme clear that one up now, The Room is a terrible game.

Henry was seriously the most -.- dude ever.
No emotion at all.

the room was great but the gameplay kinda sucked. So many brilliant ideas and potential in that game

The Room was not scary, had a piss poor protagonist, boring environments and then...
They make you play through the game again
At least they made some of you do that, I gave up when I realized what was happening. I will agree that it had alot of great ideas and potential. I particularly liked the room itself, especially being able to look out your bedroom window and see the world continue normally. Really upped the isolation.

yeah, reusing the poorly designed environments was terrible.
That stupid water prison... ugh.
Also, it wasn't "The Room," though I guess "Silent Hill: The Apartment" doesn't really have the same ring to it.
Thirsty... oh, chocolate... CHOCOLATE...

Henry was the lame but the actual main character was walter sullivan and he was a great character.
The story in general was great.
The room was a great concept and worked well. Especially how midway through, the game was able to raise the stakes solely through gameplay when going back to the room no longer healed you could instead hurt you.
Soundtrack and atmosphere is amazing. And it actually had some good level design, except for the subway.

I think it was an okay game, but it wasn't really a Silent Hill game to me...
Most of the game didn't even take place in Silent Hill, it was mostly only mentioned in passing.
But it does get a plus for having Jasper in it.

The game didn't need to take place in Silent Hill. I applaud the room for trying something different while grasping the subtleties of the series without having to try to live up to it.

The room gets too much hate. I dug the whole 21 sacraments things and I like that the monsters revolved around Walters victims. Plus the soundtrack was ace.

Yeah that was such a great idea. Unfortunately, the ghosts were more annoying than scary after a while. I mean, every scene that introduced each ghost was awesome and creepy, but then in gameplay the totally phoned it in. Might have been much better if they didn't give the ghosts an unavoidable ranged attack

The haunting bits were good too. The first half of the game you thought you were safe in your apartment. Then you pick up that fucking doll...

NEVER PICK UP THE DOLL.
That's a lie. Real men always pick up the doll.
