The things you mention both groups having is literally something many other tech-death groups had before both of them. It's practically the standard to include those things. The main difference between the two is Beyond Creation use some song-writing. Brain Drill doesn't.

Wiz have weird taste in metal...He could love some "proggy" metal like Burst and dislike Scale The Summit(both bands that I love)... He could love Necrophagist and shit on Hour of Penance, Decrepith Birth and this... And he likes Neurosis like it is the best band ever(I like them but sometimes their stuff is just too long for no reason)...His taste doesn't follow logic...
But yeah, he is knowledgeable...
