I remember when DH became my favorite band years ago and I've never looked back! Considering their output, attitude, aesthetic, diversity, and Bradford Cox's outlandish and endearing intrigue, I honestly feel that they're one of the most rewarding bands working today of which to be a fan.

(And I still find 'HD' to be their best album, although this might be more 'enjoyable'...)

i actually like halcyon digest a lot more than this, but this is still great.

No, Monomania demands an undivided attention and continuous play to truly see the beauty within its surrealism.

I don't think you need the "an" there mate =)

@Irving

It sounds right to me, but I'll change it if you think it reads better. Thanks, Irving.

great write-up man!

I gave this record several listens but it still hasn't clicked on me. don't really know why, maybe I wanted it more psychedelic and less straightforward

it really has moments of surrealism though!

What, everyone jumps on the Microcastle bandwagon but this gets little attention? This album and its whole mood are money.

yeah this is a strong release--just a bunch of great, noisy songs stacked up atop each other. i can imagine the beatles jamming out to "neon junkyard"

microcastle isn't even that good to me. halcyon digest sounds like their magnum opus to my ears

damn i cant believe im actually going to agree with gyro.

microcastle took so long to get into, but it just doesnt even compete with their orgasmic halcyon digest

This album was super disappointing for me after their other awesome stuff. Really only the first three songs stand out

I did as the review instructed and listened from beginning to end and I still can't get into this. Since I love Deerhunter I'll keep trying, but I don't have high hope's.
