Sooooo sick of Waiting All Night, been played what feels like 3-4 times a day on radio station I listen to.

Davey lives! It's been a while. Review meets - if not exceeds - your usual standards.

I quite like Feel The Love, and since I never listen to the radio I've not become sick of it. The rest of the record is pretty hit and miss though imo. There's such a mix and match of styles that it almost seems like a compilation.

"You're implying that I'll be listening to this!" You know you wanna. At least listen to 'Spoons' (or 'Baby') which might be more up your alley.

"Not heard this in full, but based on their live shows I'm guessing this is pretty bad." I don't think they're the type of group I'd personally wanna see live tbh.

"If this had been deviant he wouldn't have made the genre that easily identifiable" That's why I'm such a bad reviewer; Too clear & literal... The best reviewers initially make no sense whatsoever!

"Sooooo sick of Waiting All Night, been played what feels like 3-4 times a day on radio station I listen to." liberi!!!! And yeah, of the 3 singles, that's the one that will get old quickest... Because there's like 2 lines of lyrics throughout it. Then again, ditto for James Blake. I wonder if he'd get old if radio played him constantly. I'll never know as I don't listen to the radio.

Hey Ali, it has been a while. I'm thinking you've probably listened to about 10 times the albums I have this year. This definitely feels like a compilation & has that mix-and-match framework you speak of... But in a way I see that as a positive since I'm unsure I could take more than 6 tracks of that frenetic d'n'b style. At the very least, it shows that these guys are more than a one-trick pony. Plus, being narrow-minded, most dance/electronica albums feel like compilations to me.

Yep. They were 'Feel the Love' & 'Not Giving In'.

Then I can definitely see the appeal in this kind of stuff. Sadly it just ain't for me. It is kind of refreshing though to see a rather solid poppy take on a sound that doesn't fall into horrific genre cliches simply for the sake of sales. More radio friendly, but definitely following the same kind of jump-up summer tunes that Pendulum used to deal out in spades

I've added 5 videos to the opening comment post.

Well said Dev. Although, you may be surprised by the variety on here. It's much more soulful than what you'd expect & some tracks can't even be mentioned in the same breath as a Pendulum. Try this one out if you have not already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9iZh5lV13M

That's actually not a bad little house tune. A little too simple, but perfect for a vocal track

Yeah, and I guess that's what has to be considered here... As unknown as most of these singers are, the vocals do play a large role in the accessibility stakes.

I dig that you're branching out here, Davey. Nice work-- not sure I could do an album of this ilk justice.

Nice work Davey, this seems right into my wheelhouse so I'll check it out. If it's as good as summer-jam Pendulum then I'll definitely like it

Really digging this on first listen and this isn't even the sort of genre I would normally add to my library :/

Thanks Omaha. After however many years of reviewing now, it's about time I at least challenged myself a little. Might have to 1 a classic metal album soon. ;-)

I think it might be Brostep, but don't get too hung up ont he Pendulum comparison, The fact that they're both mainstream-ish D'n'B really is the only comparison. Hell, I didn't even get them into my long list of recos!

What's "it" Atari? If iy's my marbles, I lost them the day I joined Sputnik! ;-)

Ditto for me StolenIdentity. And I have always thought that can sometimes be the highest compliment: Being able to woo non-fans of a genre.

Holy Rosco sighting... Holy Rosco endorsement. I hope "Not sure how much yet though" isn't you waiting to see what the cool people think of this! ;-)
