Honestly Poulsen never really gets on my nerves; he's got a great singing voice and I just really enjoy it.

Demi, I'd expect you'd give this band two 3s out of all the Lps. Maybe even a 3.5 in there.

I disagree. I think dead but rising and the sinner is you are both very good songs. Rather I think that room 24 is the weakest song on the album

To each his own, I suppose. While I certainly don't hate either song, I just felt they weren't as good as the others. Room 24

really grew on me from the first listen to now.

Thanks baker: feature? That would be cool : )

This album really requires a great sound system. Listened to it on a low end car stereo and my initial thought was this was a 2.5-3 at best.

Adding Anthrax's former guitarist really made a difference as did playing a song with King Diamond.

Volbeat just has a really hard time choosing songs to be single at times. Unless their plan was to underwhelm the public with Cape of Our Hero.

Their cover of My Body is probably my favorite song on the album though.

Best songs in my opinion are Black Bart, 24, Doc H and Dead but Rising.

The acoustic guitar in the intro sounds exactly like Space Lord

Id pretty much make this a 4.75 (5 since there aren't 1/4 increments) if they'd have replaced "the sinner is you" with "ecotone." The sinner is you just KILLS the energy and fun this album has entirely throughout. It would have made the last two closers seem even more powerful if i wasn't so deflated by that garbage song.

I wrote a review of this but my connection timed out and i lost about 2.5 pages of text explaining why this is one of the best rock albums in some time. I may work up the courage to try again someday.

Oh and one more thing... am I the only one that thinks it was completely unnecessary for volbeat to do a cover song of a modern band? I mean, I get it that the song's decent, in fact my wife loves it. But, my issue is why would I want this when another new volbeat song could have been there instead?

Unnecessary, maybe. I've actually recently heard the original on radio multiple times the last few weeks, so maybe there's a correlation. Either way, my wife also loves the cover. I think this album turned her into an almost volbeat fan
