i just saw the comments on the first page
this should be viewed as "bluegrass" or "folk-punk" or anything like that. if you view it though any of those lenses, yes, you will see this as "false."
the exact conversation that I didn't want to happen (the one I talk about in the review) is the exact one that is happening. how surprising.
potsy - I actually don't know your tastes well. Certain things I know you will like, but you have a pretty eclectic taste so I really don't know. If you're going to be cynical about it and try to view is as "false"-[genre] then yes I could see you thinking this is dumb. I just think it has great lyrics and is really fun music. I honestly don't know, give it a try.
I can't find any other songs on youtube, but this is the opening track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rebUWJzZFLI

people say "false" and mean it all the time though, and I wasn't speaking specifically to you. I know you are being facetious, but I also know what you mean when you ask that (and you do mean something). I'm not worked up or something if that's what you think, I was just doing by best to answer that question cause I honestly don't know what you or miles or whoever would think of this.

Great review Adrian, and congrats on the feature! Think this would be my thing?

ah, well this is definitely false-bluegrass though. My cousin majored in fiddle (violin, let's be real here Patrick) at Berklee in Boston and I'm almost certain he would call it that. He is crazy good and is a hardcore bluegrass purist.
lucidityyyyy I could see you mildly enjoying this, but I'd be surprised if it went further than that. I feel weird just saying "....No!" when people ask if they will like it but I'm just being honest. I would always hope someone would just listen anyway but lotsa good stuff coming out right now yaknowwwwww? the best songs aren't on youtube unfortunately.

"really curious to see some opinions on this album besides me and hep kat"
hi. this isn't as immediate and catchy as the first one but part of me thinks its better overall

Folk punk has never done anything for me. Same goes with folk for the most part. I enjoy neo-folk more
than folk.
|
| |
yea weird folk is best folk

"hi. this isn't as immediate and catchy as the first one but part of me thinks its better overall"
oh man me too, me too.
I dunno which one I like more, but this one feels more "complete." Better stand-out tracks on Guts n Teeth though.
And guys, this really isn't folk at all, you need to stop basing whether you will jam this or not on that. I only included that first comment as a joke related to the content of the reivew. Think bluegrass with punky lyrics.

I like it, but the music kinda feels a bit too gimmicky instead of having the "real bluegrass spirit". Also, the vocalist kinda reminds me of Frank Turner.
