Comparable to the likes of VersaEmerge, Halestorm & Paramore, female-fronted Boston alt-rockers PVRIS show a great deal of promise on their 5 track self-titled EP. While the style here is not exactly innovative, the quartet do what they do well, with the catchy & melodic guitar lines especially impressing. Out front, the raw vocals of Lynn Gunn need work, but also show a lot of passion & edge. Ballad 'Only Love' highlights that the band need to work on their diversity, but otherwise this is a rock-solid debut from a group who are well worth keeping an eye on. Recommended Tracks: Mind Over Matter, Waking Up & The Heartless.
