I didn't think this was as bad as you but good review. It's generic as fuck but I find it fun. The vocals are great and even the clean choruses are good and catchy. Agree about Skin And Bones though. Definitely a gimmick.

The screaming is good enough to push me from a 2 to a 2.5. If the bass wasn't so in your face I may have pushed this to a 3

a 1.5 is a little harsh, but i'm just sick of hearing bands like this. It's what a lot of my friends listen to and i get a little ornery when i hear these guys heralded as something new and refreshing.

I can totally understand your point of view tbh. I just think it's just done slightly better than other bands. Like if you HAVE to make generic metalcore, I guess this is along the lines of what it should sound like. Still below a 3 but yeah.

In all honesty it's about a 1.8 in my books. But a 1.5 seemed a little bit harsh to me. I was teetering between a 1.5 and 2 and now i'm realizing a 2 fits it better. Sorry to confuse/offend

Agreed on Tooth'n'Nail ruling in the past. So many good bands... That label was my jam back in the early-mid 2000s. ...then all the good bands left or broke up, lol.
It's a good review, atrink, but I agree with a lot of what Omaha said. It was definitely a solid try in a different direction though.
