I think this band is exceptionally over-rated.

Wanderlustforlife, I think most people who give a shit about music feel that way about Metallica at this point, or atleast I hope

They had three (but I understand most people argue 4) albums that were good but even they were quite flawed, they certainly don't deserve the ridiculous amount of fame they have when you consider how many other bands of the same genre are way better than them (obviously imo). I respect them on a personal level for being my gateway band, but they fuck up way too much as human beings and as musicians.

metallica was the biggest thrash pioneer. people seem to forget that little tidbit and act like they just got popular out of nowehere. kill em all was the first major thrash album, and thrash has influenced basically all other forms of metal since.

metallica is not overrated in the slightest.

Yankee bringing the truth. and there's no way anyone can say modern tallica is overrated because let's be honest, it's pretty unaminously agreed that it sux

Fair enough, I just personally enjoy too few albums by them and even the ones I enjoy either have production issues or Lars is being horribly distracting with his obnoxious lack of drumming ability (I know it's cool to hate on Lars now, but I seriously believe he brings down the rest of the band). I would just personally much rather listen to other bands that are more consistent and interesting.

Lars was tolerable in the older metallica works ( I can't say the same of his work in a big part of the newer albums ). Specially AJFA has decent drum work.

Ehhhh, maybe the first three albums...tolerable, but barely. On ...And Justice he makes me want to smash my face against a brick wall out of frustration. That would easily be my favorite Metallica release if Lars' drumming wasn't so awful and overbearingly high in the mix. Seriously, listen to any other metal band cover Blackened and it's automatically heavier if the drummer isn't Lars/has played the instrument for more than 20 minutes in his/her life.

I understand your point Lucca but I have to disagree with you. I find the drum work in AJFA more enjoyable, the drum beats are dense, more complex and accelerated. That album has the best performance of the Lars Career.

I still like this album a lot, it just needed to trim down the second half. Poor Twisted Me has pretty much no reason to exist when there could've been an extra minute of The Outlaw Torn.
