nice review ins.

just one small error i noticed...

"it’s possibly the heaviest song on the album with an infectious choruses that sounds like something out of Souls at Zero-era Neurosis"

chorus not choruses

This is doing nothing for me, no surprise. Gonna go listen to some crush of new Batillus.

I thought the same after In Mourning released their bland Kraken album (dunno why, but I see both of these bands in parallel) but this album is damn good.

And The Weight of Oceans was far, far from bland.

Good review but I literally have no clue where you got the idea TLR had bad production. It has superb production - the drum sound, the thick guitars, the vocal channeling, etc. Mantra had poorer production as it sounded drab and far less punchy. Maybe this is is subjective but it always struck me (and a few others) as obvious Mantra's production was a let-down after TLR - this is reflective of the songwriting quality of both as well.
