Maybe they just don't wanna oppose the hype

Too scared

They *can't* go against the hype now. Too early. They need the good reviews to cover themselves, then the singer will do something dumb like piss on a holocaust memorial after a few too many beers and then they can destroy them as planned.

I've only read the NME's review of this album. 8/10 if I remember rightly. I imagine they'll have Winston Smith pasting a new number over that in a few years time.

I think it's a great album and you people are being a bit cynical. It's a garage band so basically it's for enjoyment.

one of PV's Dads manages Nick Cave apparently. Industry Parents use contacts to help band get some nice features in certain magazines, access to certain things other bands don't have.

no one is any better or worse than anyone else its all about who you know and how much you're willing to pay and who's dick you're metaphorically willing to suck.

If you're such an expert in what is good and what is not...why don't you go and form a band and write an album yourself? Bore off, music "journalists" like yourselves are on the way out with HMV. Don't let the door bang you on the backside on your way out

I am in a band and have been on albums before. That answers that anyway. Besides, better a reviewer (and a good one, I daresay) than your typical moron commenter who likes to hide behind anonymity.

I'm sorry the band you like are really shit. When you reach adolescence you might understand.

P.S.

HMV's assets were bought out, so they will be continuing. By that reckoning so will I. Thanks for playing though.

If it isn't broken. Don't fix it. It IS the ultimate argument. Viney should be ashamed of himself

I've never heard Viney's band but I'd fancy their chances of being better than this.

In the way that it has guitars, bass, drums and vocals....yes, it does. Otherwise, no.

Haha love the review! On the other hand, also love this album... especially live! reviewed one of their gigs here: http://onenoteforever.com/palma-violets-oxford-live-review/ But yeah I find that the album has loads of life in it and is pretty damn lovable, especially 'We Found Love' and 'Chicken Dippers'

You spend most of this review complaining about the NME and british indie which you obviously don't like in the first place, not the best way to look at an album objectively. It's a pretty good album and they actually put on a fun show, their set at glastonbury was among the best this year.
