new wave is one of my fav things ever, even more than post-punk i suppose. but sadly sput is fucking awful for new wave, and post-punk to a lesser extent

new wave is just poppier/poopier post-punk
|
| |
new wave and post-punk is pretty much the opposite end of my listening spectrum. i like Talking Heads and Wire and maybe a few other bands that would fall under those categories but thats about it
however, i love the song Blue Monday, so if its more like that then i should dig this

The Police, Talking Heads, Siouxie and the Banshees, Elvis Costello, Duran Duran, New Order, Joy Division, Talk Talk, The Fixx, Blondie, The Cure, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, etc. and there's a ton of bands from that era that had really, really, really good hits.
new wave

| |
i had no idea most of those were new wave. i like a good majority of those
|

new wave is just poppier/poopier post-punk
not necessarily, new wave was more-of-an artistic movement than anything, many synth-pop bands too!
new wave is one of my fav things ever, even more than post-punk i suppose. but sadly sput is fucking awful for new wave, and post-punk to a lesser extent
sput is fucking awful for no wave, and new wave to a lesser extent :[

i was thinking like 1 album but ok a whole laundry list of albums is alright lol
|
| |
The Police are huge for me. Duran Duran's first two albums are good. Talk Talk's last three albums are really good, although only one of them is really new wave (the first of their last three). New wave encompasses a lot of things - it's basically everything that wasn't pure pop or punk of the time.
|
| |
i kno what new wave and post punk r lol
i listen to most of those (cept the police and duran druan suck imo)
already jam talking heads, love elvis costello, mid era talk talk rules, joy division rules, depeche mode has two great records, i like the smiths as well
i guess im more interested in darkwave idk obvs new order isnt exactly darkwave but thats the kinda stuff ive been struggling to find
