i listened to it once a few months ago and thought it was relly boring :/

music for airports is one of those albums you have to listen to through a filter of context. in 2013
it's really not that amazing but when you realize it came out in 1978 its brilliant and extremely
innovative
that being said just because something was innovative doesnt mean you need to particularly enjoy it,
just recognize it for what it is. without music for airports most of the stuff that makes it seem
dated might not be the same.

don't really agree
music for airports is still better than tons of recent ambient albums
|
| |
it is by no means bad, or even average by todays standards, but it does sound a little dated regardless
|
| |
it's fucking dated but that's not saying it's a bad album at all

love how organic and swampy a lot of this sounds, 'tal coat' feels really out of place though

Ambient 1 and 2 are my favs of the series but this is cool too, especially the second half.
|
| |
yeah need to complete my set and get 2 and 3 into my library, the obvious reason they aren't already being that they aren't released (purely) under the Eno name which I suppose leads to them being more easily overlooked and a bit more obscure
