Tis' amazing, agreed.

On the subject of remastered versions, I have both originals (this and the Downward Spiral) and I remember the production on this being a lot clearer then the Downward Spiral. That one's mental.

All part of the experience I guess...

Downward Spiral I like just a little better, mostly because of the lack of filler.

That said, comparing this to that is an apples and oranges situation.

"Good ol angry Trent"

Not sure I ever bought into that. I mean, he sampled Prince.

Not sure what you mean. He was pretty damn angry in his early albums lol.

I'm glad he found his way though, it's cool to hear how happy he is now on his newest album.

Young Reznor Lyrics < SYNTHS

Actually, Reznor never really learned how to write lyrics that would sound good coming out of anyone's else mouth. That is why all covers of his work suck dick. No one else can bring the raw energy and earnest required to make them work (David Bowie exempted from that rule, of course).

Eh, it is one of those covers I both like and don't like. His version does carry emotional weight in its context, but without that context it really doesn't touch the original, imo.

Relistening to the original I'd say I prefer it to the remaster, better dynamics and everything is nice and clear, sometimes the remaster can come across as too loud
