First four tracks are absolutely sublime in every sense of the word...but then it's downhill from Clocks, with a peak at Rush Of Blood. But I'd still give it a four based on the sheer quality of God, Politik, Place and Scientist (on of the best songs ever written)

Nah, the Scientist is far from one of the best songs ever written...none the less, you've got to love Chris's persona and song writing ability. Anyone can accuse Coldplay of being a cold, boring and repeatative band, but it takes something else to come up with such beautiful lyrics and melody.

coldplay is a little too mainstream for me...if they would write songs that werent so idk how to say it--maybe mtv-ish they would be really good

That is quite possibly the silliest comment ever. Coldplay is not maistream at all. The only other band like them is Radiohead. And thats it. Maistram MTV is Ashlee Simpson and other assorted crap.

In response to MusicOffical101, Radiohead haven't sounded like Coldplay for at least 10 years (although obviously Radiohead came first. You know what I mean). Coldplay have never made an album like The Bends, let alone like anything that came after that.

EDIT: Shall I redo this review? I think it was my first review and it kind of sucks. This Message Edited On 10.11.05

It's still Good Charlotte.

and MED, this review is fine, so far it has 100% positive.

Also Even if they dont sound like Radiohead, they dont sound like anyone then. A lot of bands like Keane try to be like them, so Coldplay's sort of created it's own genre.

I agree that Coldplay, whilst being an amazing band at what they do, do not cater to everyone's needs. They are wonderful to play after a long tiresome day to unwind and yes, this album is great however just won't suit all my moods. Up Politik! I do not however, like 'In My Place' the radio had proclaimed this song dead for me before I got teh album. This Message Edited On 11.26.05

I can see how people can't like them, being popular and all, but I don't mind them at all. X&Y was a slight fall in quality but this album is really good. Top stuff. And the first album's growing on me I guess...
