no i don't think any of those are similar and i think you are crazy. you are going out of your way to
find comparisons. obviously sam is influenced by these people, but he is not a master of vocal
effects, and has very little control over what his voice sounds like. any comparisons you muster are
not owed to plagiarism, but his genes. it is the stupidest thing when people criticize someone's vocal
tone as if they have full control over how it sounds
all music builds on what already exists. it is foolish to assert otherwise

I didn't look for these comparisons, they hit me upon initial listening. Either way, we'll have to agree to disagree here.

p.s. quoth me from a few posts ago:
"Of course all rock music is derived from the past, but this is uninspired"
so yeah I'm not asserting otherwise

i agree with a few points, like it being a uninspired, although I don't think its as bad as you make it out to be; IMO music like this is never really all that inspired anyway. and yea it borrows a shit load of influence from yester-bands. fuck it though, this is good "chillin by the harbor smokin hella chrizzle" music

I agree with this review.

This is pretty bland.

although I disagree w/your rating (I don't really have enough knowledge of rock music to say whether this is derivative or not. possibly in the future after listening to more bowie, dylan, etc. my opinion on this albums merit will change) I think this is a superb review, and I think your last paragraph was borderline brilliant.
also I just looked at your page and your other reviews are great and you're not active anymore
