'On second thoughts this is best Cave'

I haven't dug into this one yet. Just got into Cave last year. Henry's Dream is probably my favorite.

Killer song. Absolute favorite for me is I Had a Dream, Joe. I don't think anything I hear will ever top it.

I'm not a huge fan of his later stuff. Much prefer early Bad Seeds where The Birthday Party influence is still apparent

I can't get into the Birthday Party at all, but I can see the appeal.

yeah cave pretty much lost it after 1990, although, when you think about it, it's almost admirable how Let Love In, Murder Ballads, The Boatman's Call, No More... and the rest of his 90-13 stuff have all these different themes and moods but somehow end up being the same boring alt rock built upon the same boring alt rock template.

Man, I love Let Love in, Dig Lazarus Dig, Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus and Murder Ballads. I feel they are plenty varied and different, even though they all still sound unmistakably like Nick Cave.

There was a quality drop, but he rarely made a dud.

Except Henry's Dream is his best album; IMO, obviously.

I like every Cave album to a certain degree though.
