Nice to see someone defend what really isn't a bad album. I like the darker look and sound here. But those vocals were torture. Might have to give it another go to see if I still feel the same way now.

good revew, the album is solid, but it doesnt have those memorable moments which define masterpieces.
I enjoy it quite a lot, but Virtual XI is really better

I used to listen to this album when it came out but not since then. Your review made me listen to this album again. Even though I don't consider it a masterpiece it's a pretty descent album.

The songs from this album, are like tracks from Killers and the Iron Maiden record. Good songs, that are 1000 times better when Bruce does them live.

A horrible average? Sign of the cross, Fortunes of war, Edge of darkness, Man on the edge etc, are a horrible average? Even the great Bruce sounded very dry and unconvincing when he attempted to perform SOTC. Some people think that this a Bruce-Blaze debate, like we are in high-school and we fight over britney-aguilera, or madonna-minogue or sth... Seriously, before you write down such comments, grow a beard at least or requestion your overall hearing ability...
