opinion invalid im afraid.

He has plenty of great songs, I never said he didn't. And no I haven't but judging him by his studio albums he's a good guitarist but not the second coming of Christ like most critics seem to think.

I believe I said his playing doesn't express as much feeling as some of the other all time great blues guitarists who are renowned for conveying emotion through their guitar playing.
Because a particular guitarist doesn't convey as much emotion for me as he does for you (which obviously a very personal and subjective factor in music), my opinion is invalid? Due to this ridiculous conclusion you have come to, anything you say about music is now invalid I'm afraid.

Well I'd definitely recommend seeing him live, that did feel like the second coming of Jesus, he was astounding. I understand your criticisms though.
I do need to listen to more 'classic' blues artists

"He's great but he lacks the feel/emotion and character that I look for in blues guitarists."
"his brand of Texas blues seems to rely less on feeling and emotional intensity than other styles of blues."
Lenny, Cold Shot, Dirty Pool... I could go on....
"Don't get me wrong I'm not saying SRV is generic or anything he just doesn't have that special touch "
Please explain what this "special touch" is?
And going back to Joe B. A lot of people dislike him (imo anyway) because he is this young, white, nerdy looking guy who can pretty much outplay/perform any blues artist there has been. Having also seen him live I can pretty much say this guy is the second coming of jesus. The fact he didnt become stuck in an endless career cycle like Kenny Wayne did is pretty impressive.

I can't really explain it and that's why it's special. It's something that very few guitarists have which simply equates to them being able to convey stronger emotion through their playing than any other guitarists I've heard.
And going back to Joe B. A lot of people dislike him (imo anyway) because he is this young, white, nerdy looking guy who can pretty much outplay/perform any blues artist there has been.
What do you mean by outplay? There's a lot more to being a great blues musician than just being able to outplay everyone.
I find it hilarious that you seem to be getting uptight simply because I think two blues guitarists that you love are simply great (well maybe good is a better word for Bonamassa as he doesn't do an awful lot for me as an overall artist). I've never said I disliked either of them.

Oh and to quote you quoting me:
"He's great but he lacks the feel/emotion and character that I look for in blues guitarists."
I'm talking about a specific emotional quality that I look for in blues playing which (for me) SRV doesn't have. I'm not saying he doesn't play with emotion or feeling.

Also, this isn't exactly a unique opinion in blues circles, many hardcore blues fans don't hold these two guitarists in as high regard as a lot of other blues greats. In fact plenty of blues fans discount musicians like Bonamassa and even SRV for not encompassing what the blues was really about. That's not what I'm getting at though.
