Yeah but they are mostly splits, demo's ep's and stuff like that right? I mean if each band had 2-3 albums out now wouldn't they be more well known in the metal circles except the underground?

I don't know how this is so hard to understand. When I wrote my review of Adversarial's first album when it came out (which was two years ago), it would have been appropriate to call them 'up and coming'. And it's almost an insult to call a band who has been together for 6 years a newcomer.

good review except for your last sentence, neither band are really up and comers anymore as they have a slew of releases already behind them
Thanks for catching that, you're right. I'm not sure how that got by me. I'm new to both bands, but shouldn't have written it like that.

@ Rasputin Yeah definetely you can't call a band that's together for so many years a newcomer. Both bands are promising and I would really like to hear a new album from them. The 3 songs from each band are good, and the split just made me more hungry to hear some new stuff from both of them.
@ alachlahol well tha's some truth in that.

both have so many releases. i think it's totally unfair to judge band's output solely on full lengths.
|
| |
yeah especially when the band puts effort into releasing different formats

Yeah really not a fun of demos, splits etc. I am mostly hearing albums and eps. But I don't mean that when a band is writting a demo or any other format that they are not putting effort in it, cause definelety you put effort to write/compose music and whatever that comes with that.

What's your issue with splits? Some of my favorite releases this year have been splits. You're missing out on very much by cutting yourself off.

Not really an issue Carousel with splits or any other format. Yeah I agree with what you are saying man about missing some good stuff without hearing splits, demo's etc. I mean most of the music I hear comes from either an ep or an album by a band. With the plethora of realeses coming out nowdays I really can't keep up with hearing everything that's out in the moment and in the process of that I will definetely lose some good stuff that the a,b,c etc. band has put either as a split or demo for example. I dont' by any means saying that the bands should stop realising splits, demo etc or their are not putting effort in making music. And as you said there is some really good stuff in splits, demos etc that i am missing.
