The reason you don't see any Point#1 stuff on here is the fact they were on a different label, so they can't legally publish it under epic. It'd be cool if they bought back the rights to that material, shouldn't cost much either since that label folded.

having that album remastered and published on Epic would be amazing

I've always had a soft spot for Chevelle. Can't say I'm a big fan but I've really appreciated everything they've put out (I gave a 4 to ALL their albums). But to be honest, I find the tracklist very underwhelming. I know it's supposed to be a singles collection but meh, I'd rather listen to Wonder What's Next or Vena Sera (bummer only 1 track from that latter album was included).

i'm fairly certain i'll never purchase a greatest hits, or sorry "collection of favorites", ever again. It would be an absolute travesty if someone picked this up as their entrance to chevelle rather than going album to album.

I never saw the point in releasing or even reviewing/rating a greatest hits album. You can't talk about much beyond "i'm happy/disappointed they included _____ song". The tracklist could definitely have included both more songs and better songs though.
Family System [2]

They shoulda just released a b-sides collection, I woulda bought that shit in a flash, some of their best songs are b-sides tbh
Leto's Headache, Sleep Walking Elite, Glimpse of the Con, In Debt to the Earth, Until You're Reformed...
|
| |
Until You're Reformed was the song that got me into them in the first place, so weird it wasn't even "The Red" or "The Clincher" like it probably was for most ppl.
|
| |
I think it was actually 'Letter from a Thief' for me
Ridiculous that that song isn't on this thing, but The Meddler is and that wasn't even a damned single like the rest
Neither was Sleep Apnea actually, wth

Gawd just let me make the tracklist next time guyyzzzz!!

I could have used some Evening With El Diablo, Family System, A New Momentum, Emotional Drought, Letters From a Thief, blah blah blah >insert other better songs that weren't on this compilation here<
I agree with a few songs on here, like I Get It, The Red and Vitamin R, but most of the rest are just not that great compared to their other non-single stuff. I just don't get why the loaded it so heavy with Hats Off To The Bulls songs. I don't know about anyone else, but that's my least favorite album they've done so far.

According to Pete, HOTTB was the happiest he's ever been with an album post-release. Like when he looks back on every other album, this new one he had the least regrets about. Iunno this was in some interview somewhere. Might explain why.
Although on the other hand, it seemed like something the label wanted to release more than the band themselves, sooooo the label probably chose all those songs (or most of them).

Hats Off... was pretty great, although the first couple of songs were kinda disappointing. But Vena Sera is probably my favorite.

Face to the Floor gets a lot more hate than I think it deserves. It's a fairly simple song with that one continuous riff, but it grew on me for some reason. The chorus adds just enough of a bang to keep it fresh.
Lotta Chevelle fans will disagree with me though, and I understand them completely.

I think Point #1 needs more love tbh
Agree with the guy who said it'd be awesome to see it re-recorded on Epic
|
| |
I think someone also mentioned that since Point #1 was released under another label, Epic didn't have the rights to those songs and therefore couldn't put them on this. Really don't know how it works though, too many legal rules and shit.
|
| |
Yeah, I think they could buy the rights back though? And Dos just seems too good to leave in the dust
|
| |
That label is no more anyways lol

I really like Face To The Floor. It and Hats Off To The Bull are the only two tracks that really stood out to me enough to remember the names. I probably should give the album another go. It's been a while since I listened to it.
It probably was the label. I think the same thing happened when Foo Fighters released their greatest hits. Grohl had no interest in releasing a GH album, the label did it and he was not happy about it.

I think Breaking Benjamin take the crown in terms of ridiculous Greatest Hits release circumstances
