I don't get it, what made My Chemical Romance do this?

they were drained by the black parade and the emo movement so they said "fuck it"

My Chemical Romance had an entire album recorded before Danger Days, their latest release. They decided instead to scrap this one and record Danger Days, still keeping these tracks hidden from the fans. Now the band is releasing two tracks a month, in the form of vinyl EPs and digital downloads in a "Conventional Weapons" series. On the 18th, the third in this series will be released. It's quite exciting to be transported back to a time when The Black Parade was in recent history. The sound of the EPs are definitely reminiscent of the Black Parade era of MCR.

I don't really think it's sounds like the black parade at all nor three cheers, the sound they were chasing here is totally raw and organic, their objective was to make something totally different to the black parade

These 2 songs are excellent. They're kind of a cross between 'Three Cheers...' & 'Danger Days...'. And the fact that they're both short & rapid-fire makes them perfect for the opening 1-2 punch of the album proper.

Not quite as good as the best songs off of Black Parade or The Ghost of You, but damn I really dig the instrumentation and songwriting on these two tracks. Only thing that glaringly offended me was the “la la la la” during the, otherwise, incredibly well-executed mini breakdown on Boy Division

I wasn’t even planning on touching it, but I just might have to after I work through Conventional Weapons

It gets a bit too much hate, there are some really stellar tracks in the mix but some garbage there for sure

Boy Division has got to be one of their best tracks.
