Nah they are overrated and a bit boring.
Saw them live many years ago, just before they ran off stage cause the stage was falling apart due to a sandstorm (thank god). When things calmed down enough, there came John Garcia's band and obliterated them (the sandstorm was still ongoing, it was epic)

I could never see the appeal insomniac and god knows I tried, I think the vocals are my biggest qualm, plus some of their riffs are so simple that i feel almost insulted lol.
They have a hell of a fuzz tone though, all things considered.

Btw all this Fu Manchu talk came because I was just jamming King of the Road (which doesn't have a review ???) and it was boring the hell out of me.

Played this in the basement for friends on a vinyl night not long ago. Everyone saluted. What a classic!

Gave this and a couple Kyuss CD’s to the veteran former office head of my college’s newspaper who had never heard either band. He texted me a few years later to let me know those CD’s changed his life and they were now his two favorite bands (along with Windhand which he found out about later.) Miss that guy
