'Four Words' is probably the most straight-forward (relativel speaking) of these songs Brostep. Even if people don't think it is the best here, it was correctly chosen as the lead single.

I'm unsure they made the correct decision on their previous EP though. They chose 'Juliet', when I thought both 'Saviour' & 'Butterflies' may have been better picks.

"Am I wrong or is "that is heavy" supposed to be "that are heavy" " Haha Mixtape, I remember thinking the same thing when writing the review. It's a tricky one, but I thought the term "dual guitar attack" should be seen as a singular, not plural. EG: The dual guitar attack is heavy on the delayed effects sounds better than using "are".

Thanks TooLateToGoBack. I think it's the best comparison for this band, although they may be aiming for 'Translating the Name', but are only at self-titled LP level right now.

Good to hear Apollo.

'A Tale Of Two Shitty (Albums Released So Far)'

Hehe

But hey Davey now that you mentioned it, you would probably like Cynic's last EP
it's super groovy and has no harsh vocals whatsoever

Thanks Jockstraps. Glad you like it.

Oy, I'm the pun-master around here.

Yeah, I've actually been meaning to give them a listen Thomas. And waiting for their next album may be a little too dangerous in their case.

I really am. I don't think I have a middle ground with bad music. It's either a 1 or a 2.5 and up.

Haha... That sounds about right... Playing to the script, so to speak!

Pulled in by the recs (anything mentioning FFAF and Saosin, especially old Saosin, gets my attention), and I'm really glad I was. Definitely enjoyed it.

The Young Guns comparison is particularly apt in the moods/atmospheres that they create, especially on the opener. As for the guitar work, I'd also say there's a lot of Architects influence on here (esp. off The Here And Now) -- the same sort of high, melodic tapping used to create an epic feel in bigger parts of the songs. Not hugely original or that hard to do, but I still love it.

Good to hear Brah... Although I knew you'd like it because I feel they sound most like Saosin & FFAF. But you also nailed why I mentioned Young Guns (although I'm unsure I noted the most appropriate release).

I've never listened to Architects... & wouldn't know how difficult that guitar technique is to perform. But like you say, if we love it, we love it.

Good sell with the recommendations. I like this, although I hate these short ep releases. They're such a tease. Something about this band reminds me of Sent By Ravens, who were always a little too cheesy for me to really get into. These guys are better.

Thanks qscott, that's why the recos are there. I've had Sent By Ravens on my "To Listen to" list for a while, but never got around to them.

Go to their bancamp Spec. http://ataleoftwocities.bandcamp.com/
