I love Gary Cherone (and Extreme) but this is...bad. Don't know whose decision it was that Gary should just imitate Hagar. The fact that the music video for "Without You" reportedly cost more than a million dollars is just mind-blowing today. "Fire in the Hole" has a good riff though.

The video is a bit awkward indeed but I always liked the song somehow.

Yeah not such a bad tune, but really only decent considering what they were capable of.

This review was a mess. Contradictory, too long, etc...I think the reviewer was trying too hard to be a...well a reviewer. Perhaps a critic. They did get the production part correct though. This may actually be the only real problem with the record. Mike Post? Cmon' REALLY guys? You were trying WAY too hard. Actually, IMO...none of this albums failure is attributed to Cherone. It's all the Van Halens!!

"Without You" is still one of their best songs even with the rest of this album being pretty bad.

Without You is great agreed. The whole album isn‘t as half as bad as it‘s reputation.

It just has no personality. Without You and Fire in the Hole are decent songs, but they're pretty mediocre in the grand scheme of things and they're easily the best times here.

Don‘t know about the personality tbh. but I understand what you’re aiming at. It‘s pretty difficult for me to describe my feelings for this, I simlpy enjoy it to a certain extent. In addition to the songs you mentioned I also really like One I Want, From Afar and Dirty Water Dog.

Don’t know if you’re serious Flug but I think the Hagar era is hard underrated at least. Roth era is another league but they had some excellent output with Hagar as well.

I love how the three reviews for this are a 0.5/5, a 2.5/5, and a 5/5. like both extremes and right in the middle.

not sure how anybody could really like this tbh, it's a cheesy clunky mess with godawful vocals
