"the siren" seemed a little too underengineered and shattered_future--good review and i agree with you 10000% that wish i had an angel was too mainstream

keep nightwish non-mainstream

DAMMIT! I CRIED AT GHOST LOVE SCORE! I don't have the album but I do have Dark Chest..., Dead Gardens, Planet Hell and GLS. I REALLY want this album! I feel such a Nightwish noob... but in the words of the Epic Sequal to the 101 Rules of Power Metal, "Oceanborn was SO better than Once!"

I think Oceanborn was better too, but the albums are completely different. You can't really compare them, aside from the fact that they're by the same band.

Once is actually one of the worst albums of their career in my opinion, surpassed only by century child. I consider all the non-marco albums better than this one, for the simple reason they dropped the fucking solos. If you listen to Oceanborn, AFF, and Wishmaster, you will hear that Emppu really is a better guitarist than he displays on this album. Come on Tuomas, give Emppu a shot!

I'm one of those people that have a very hard time rating music poorly; music is my life, and for some reason I _LOVE_ most of the music I hear.

I'm probably one of the most eclectic individuals any of you (excluding yourselves) will ever know, and although it may seem arrogant and cocky of me, I think my musical understanding is on a level higher than most people.

I have purchased every single Nightwish album less than two days after it had been released, which (I believe) would put me in the 99th percentile of Nightwish fans.

After years of following Nightwish, I bought their newest album "Nemo", listened to it a bit, and for some reason just put it away while I listened to something else.

Something compelled me, dragged me, and forced me to listen to it again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and I honestly believe it is one of the most complete and powerful albums I have ever heard.

As previously stated, this might sound very cocky and arrogant of me, but I, personally, would hold my standards higher than someone else; I literally have over 800 albums at my house, on vinyl or CD, and I have honestly listened to every single one in it's entirety (most have been listened to multiple multiple times), and this album rocks harder and more powerful than ANY of the other albums I have.

This album, to me, is honestly one of the top albums EVER created, and I absolutely LOVE listening to it.

I really hope a lot of other people will listen to Nightwish, or at least this album. I know I've converted many people to this amazing band, and I am always pushing Nightwish on people, and they ALWAYS dig Nightwish.

Very sad to see them break up like they have, and I don't know how their future will be after Tarja has left, but I know that Nightwish will always be one of the greatest bands ever, in my opinion.

Once was my introduction to Nightwish. I immediately had to purchase their other material as well. Nuff said!

As I said in my review, excellent band, good disc, nothing to complain about except I wish I had an angel and Nemo. And Higher than Hope because I find it boring.

Wish I Had an Angel was overplayed, and Nemo had the misfortune of being the mallgoth anthem for a while, but other than that there's nothing wrong with the songs.

Nightwish is one of those bands where I love their music, but their fairweather friends make me particularly ill.

Wow, this album was better than I thought. Dark Chest Of Wonders, Planet Hell and Romanticide are amazing tracks. Very aggressive album too.

I could never really get into Nightwish. They're a good band, but there's just something about them that I don't really like.

The thing about Nightwish, they are just as excellent at doing covers as they are making original songs. Over The Hills And Far Away, Phantom Of The Opera, and my overall favorite son, Walking In The Air are just incredible. Ballads too are phenominal which is why theis band is one of my favorites.
