sonic youth are one of my favorite bands and this is one of there ok ablums but no where near there best my fav would have to be washing machine i love that that ablum

cool review. i am ashamed to say i first heard of sonic youth sometime last year, and as i am relatively young never heard of them in their, i dunno , heyday. id never really heard anything about them at all till i read this review. that said, last week i aquired a cd of theirs, i think its like a special edition single or sumthin , 'dirty boots' , with extra live tracks. ive listend once , and it seemed pretty good. anyone else know anythin bout that cd?

A great album. My favorite track is probably Sugar Kane, or Youth Against Fascism.

EDIT: Im downloading all the songs you said, Br3ad man. So far ive listened to 100% drunken butterfly and sugar kane. Its pretty much what i expected, mmmm death themes. Its a good song :thumb:

Drunken butterfly is really weird but i like it wtf is kim singing about?

Sugar kane is very radio friendly, i also like that song.

well, since youre just getting into them, you should check out those songs.

This is most definitely Sonic Youth's worst album.

EDIT: Well, aside from Goodbye 20th Century. Their second worst album.

ill download 1 or 2 of the best songs from goo. I feel bad downloading the whole album, so i normally download a couple of songs then buy the album. What songs should i download from goo? Can someone do a goo review?

I personally would recommend getting tracks from Confusion Is Sex, but many SY fans will disagree with me, especially if they liked this album.

I don't see what everyone's obsession is with Goo, it is hardly one of their best albums. Bad Moon Rising, Confusion Is Sex and Evol are some of their best work.

Confusion Is Sex is definitely my favorite. Then maybe Daydream Nation and Sister. Goo is decent, but Dirty is way down on the list.

It sounds like Sonic Youth, whereas Dirty sounds like Sonic Youth trying to be a mainstream grunge/rock band?
