Well, I don't know a lot about his previous outings but I can definitely tell you that this album's more complex production-wise than it sounds like his other stuff is. You should at least check out one of the tracks I posted and see if it's at all your thing, man.

..So do you have a reason for disliking this other than who made it, Sobhi? :P

yep, the beats are repetitive, boring, do nothing to push the genre forward, and honestly any producer could be pooping out this drivel.

There we go. Well, I gotta say it sounds like it'd be much lower than a 2.5 for you!

Really enjoyed this on first spin. I'm not a hip-hop kinda person by nature, but I definitely want to give it another go. Good review as well. Pos.

he is easily the worst "popular" underground producer today.

Just Blaze? Lex Luger?

and to say any producer could make this drivel is like you're inferring a shit ton of other producers are.

I mean I am sure it shouldn't be too hard to draw an influence line from The Alchemist to a handful of more contemporary artist/producers but tbh I'm finding it difficult to name a few off hand.

Generally when an Alchemist beat kicks it, you know who made it almost instantaneously, I'm not sure I follow Sobhi this guy has done quite a bit to push the genre forward over the years.

going to completely disagree with you. i've listened to a ton of hip-hop all over the map, underground and popular. this sample heavy style is really boring and does nothing for the genre. if you're going to listen to beats like this you might as well listen to any classic record from the 90s.

not disagreeing with you that he has not changed much over the years.

but you could argue the guy helped cultivate the sound in question, especially with Dilated Peoples so, it makes sense that he sounds like this.

also, really sample heavy music did nothing for the genre?

Don't all his beats start off with that "a-a-a-a-a-a-alchemist" sample though? :p
