Good review; good album. I must admit that I found the Biblical theme a bit hard to get around. I normally detest religious bands. But I could soon see that they were trying to send another message with it, about the three religions. Even if they were a religious band, the album's merits would have greatly outweighed my aversion for preaching.

But they're a Jewish band, their religion is uncommon in metal. Religous bands usually don't bother me unless the lyrics are so blunt and poorly written it's annoying, like "Jesus loves me this I know." and so on.

My favourite by orphaned land . This album is pretty much flawless. There's so many different influences to build up this masterpiece of music.

I'm listening to this for the first time right now and I'm compeltely overwhelmed. The music is completely flawless. I never would've thought traditional Eastern music would tie in so well with extreme metal, but there isn't a single aspect of this band I would change. Everything from the melodic harmonies to the female chants to the piano is absolutely incredible. I give it a 4.5 now but I can easily picture myself giving this a 5 in the future.

And I think simply calling them death metal is a huge discredit to the band. One of the reasons it took me so long to discover them was because the simple label "death metal" isn't exactly revolutionary. I'm completely excited for their new album now. The concept is much more intricate than this, and they even have Steven Wilson producing it.This Message Edited On 09.29.06

I think the term death metal isn't very fitting either. Although they can fit under melodic death metal, that still doesn't say too much. They're hard to classify, so I justcall them progressive alternative melodic death metal. lol

this is an amazing album, so varied, yet coherent. there are more than a few opeth-esque moments, which is always a good thing.

this album is the definition of epic!

Alright, this got put up for the DU and everybody whores it out, so I decided I'm going to give it a shot.
Too bad it ended up being in mp4 format. Or something like that. I still really want to hear this, it sounds good.
