I already explained that one, Dev - I can explain it again or you can find me 5 albums with this much dynamic range and power from 2000 +

dynamic range isn't the sole factor in music production. also, someone uploaded the wrong artwork, the official cover art on his bandcamp is here. it's slightly different.

I don't have to list any albums to prove that that's a gross exaggeration. I admit that the total is a high percentage but it is not as high as you think

That 3rd paragraph is just so full of bullshit I don't even know where to begin.

Did you just infer that records from the 70s lack punch in the rhythm section and are sparsely textured? Haha. What a joke. If not then you need some rewording.

This idea of this being "the first album to fully take advantage of the CD format" is also equally disturbing, as is the notion that "99 %" of records released since 1991 have been mortally wounded by the "Loudness War".

Grace for Drowning... the first record to exhibit "dymanic range we hadn't seen since the 70s". lol what, seriously?

The entire paragraph has no merit what so ever. I'm genuinely interested into your "wide-ranging/active practices" in the mastering realm. Please tell me it extends beyond iZotope Ozone and/or the Waves L1/2/3.

Listening to it now I am totally bemused as to how you managed to come to some of these conclusions to the point where all I can think is that your blind adoration for its production aesthetic is hinged on your personal resonance with the music.

Oh man, I wanna see this play out but it's nearly four in the morning. Can you guys put the inevitable argument/debate on hold for like 12 hours?

I've never face palmed so much my entire life... I want to go off on a big, long, informative rant explaining all of the reasoning behind my points and all of the different ways you've misinterpreted each and every one of these points. Given that you two seem to be among the 'big dogs' of this site, probably wouldn't be wise.

But, if you insist taylormemer, we can continue this in my shout box and I'll gladly write you a 1000 word essay on why I'm right and you're wrong.

For fuck's sake. You make a few bold claims on this site and all of the leeches come crawling out of the fucking woodwork.

Dev do you know what you just said? "I'm right and you're wrong, this is why you're wrong; I have no reasoning or statistics to back any of this up but you're still wrong."

"I've never face palmed so much my entire life..."

You don't say!

Instead of doing it under the shadow of a shoutbox, I think it would be best in public interest to play it out here.

It's not a question of being able to write well in general, but every review I've read that's been published on the same day always just reads like running commentary, there's no depth
