I don't really get the jab at The Sword. I mean they're both "stoner" metal I guess but they come from completely places in terms of attitude.

The opening track and a lot of the imagery comes from Eastern Orthodoxy. The whole album's kind of a weird mix of Orthodox and Hindu imagery, but it works pretty well imo.

i don't know it all seems really phoned in, the pacing of the album makes very little sense and the whole thing is really predictable, not to mention the vocals just sound uncomfortable as if the guy(s) are whispering in my ear in a weird accent that probably shouldn't exist

idk if this was just an album of the drones and strings and bassline it would have been a lot better than trying to throw in that weirdly placed sludge-like track and the whole 'look at me i'm spiritual let me whisper to you uncomfortably' thing
would have kind of been like a middle-eastern earth which tbh sounds really cool
