Just heard this. Never been one for punk, at least since it ran off the road half a decade ago. But this... another level entirely.

The first listen was ok, but then Here Comes My Man started to sound like a Bryan Adams knockoff. And then the whole album started falling apart.
I'm sure it's a decent record, but whatever it was that made the earlier albums so fantastic for me is missing from this one. It all feels a bit too cloying.

Another fantastic review by Ali
Aaand it's been begged three times, apparently
Listened to the first four songs on this. Not the kinda thing id usually listen to, but I enjoyed what I heard.

albums good. I'll still take their first two over either of the last two. Whoever said this is their masterpiece I hope they are wrong.

has the most weak tracks out of any of their albums, still has some good stuff though

Blue Dahlia is awesome and has some of Brian's best lyrics, but the chorus doesn't seem to match the rest of the song at all. Teenage Rebellion (iTunes only) is also pretty great.

This is such a fantastic record, from start to finish. I couldn't stop listening until the end; there's not one bad song here. Fallon's voice is better than it's ever been, the songwriting is tight and the instrumentation is so simple, yet so varied. Listening to this through for the third time tonight, I imagine it would have some longevity. Pretty timeless, to say the least

Thank god for consistency.

They need to write another song like "Wooderson", they shed a lot more of their punk influences (again) here
