it's slightly amusing that RZA was on californication (the show) and now this

Haha true, he fits well though. The vocal back and forth between him and John on 'In My Light' is sweet. How can one drowning man save another?

Man I love this EP so so much. It's a tad short but I guess it's just a warm up for the album.
I'm considering 5'ing this...
|
| |
Whoa man a 5? Actually I would be considering it if it weren't for '909 Day'. I mean it's fine but not on the same level as the others. 'FM' fucking slays

'909 Day' is actually my favourite here TG, followed by 'In My Light'. I am considering bumping this, but not to a 5.

Don't get me wrong man, I like '909 Day' too, especially the climax. It just feels slightly incomplete to me for some reason. Will probably end up bumping to 4.5 after a few more spins. One of the many things I love about John's music, especially this record, is discovering something new every time I hear it.

I dunno, I just didn't expect this at all and I can't think of a weak moment. Perhaps it's because I'm not familiar with too much electronic music at all... or the fact i'm a raging fan boy haha.
|
| |
Yeah it's not just 100% electronic though - there is a lot of guitar in there, it's just a lot more subtle than most of his other work. In other news, just bumped this to 4.5. Feels good man. Dude WhiteNoise what do you think of 'Walls and Doors'?

Just bumped this to a 4.5 too, it really does deserve it.

I'm addicted to this, been playing it non-stop for a week. The latest blog entries on John's website make for incredibly interesting reading, too. The way his brain works is on another fucking level

This is so damn fantastic. The album completely moves from left to right and shifts seamlessly. It has to be one of the best works by Frusciante.

All his records rule in their own different ways. I've had PBX on high rotation the last few days it's some crazy shit

PBX may take some time to grow on me... i love frusciante sooo much though, and letur-lefr is amazing!
tommy, seeing that your profile pic is of john, i must ask...have you ever checked out the invisiblemovement website? people are waay to fanboyish and defensive there, but it was nice having such dedicated fans keeping me updated about everything john
|

Sup Larry. PBX is a grower for sure, Letur-Lefr is much more immediate. Yeah I check that site from
time to time just to see if there are any new releases coming up but I don't read the comments

Yeah invisiblemovement is a funny site. I adore the guy and would say he's my favorite living musician/human soul but some people take it to another level there
