I love everything about this album. The music, lyrics, guitar tone, and production are just perfect. It's one of those rare albums without a weak song. Good review.

There are a few duds on this album but the strong tracks are among Maiden's best.

Which ones are the duds?

I'm not a huge fan of Out of the Shadows, Benjamin Breeg, Lord of Light, or The Legacy.

These Colours Don't Run, Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, The Longest Day, and For the Greater Good of God are all probably top 20 Maiden songs for me though.

Out of the Shadows doesn't have the impact on you as Blood Brothers would, it's simply not as good as it. I LOVE Benjamin Breeg, it's really moody and powerful and is a grower. I love the atmosphere and riffs in it. My favourites would be Benjamin Breeg, Brighter Than A Thousand Suns, For The Greater Good of God and The Legacy.

Personally, I think Different World, Out of the Shadows and Lord of Light are the weakest. But still. Top album.

Different World is a solid opener; I enjoy how all of the Maiden albums from 2000 on begin with short bursts of energy.

i haven't listened to this enough, i really only gave it a listen right before i saw maiden for the first time a couple years ago. i've been diggin some brave new world/final frontier stuff lately though so i'll have to throw this into the mix
