He fixed it to say Daughters, I've never heard Gravity or this version of Daughters so I can't compare, but I do believe they are both in 6/8.

I haven't heard this but John Mayer is great, I've heard some live blues covers he did about a year ago and some of his extended versions of "Covered in Rain", for example, which show some amazing talent. I saw him in concert about 2.5 years ago and that kid knows how to play. Him playing pop music doesn't bother me since I've always dug pop, but a move to a more "sophisticated"/less teenybop sound is fine as well. I should probably pick this up.

I love this album. One of my favorite recent releases. Every song is great. I love that Mayer is going back to the roots with this. He is going to be the guitar genius of this generation. I can't wait for his next release, Continuum.

Nah, I think 'Who Do You Think I Was' is one of the weaker tracks on the album

It's a little too short, but god that guitar riff is cool. For some reason I like the studio version that they recorded for the video better. It's one of my personal favorites, even if it's not the best song on the CD.

maybe he can pick up where kenny wayne shepherd failed.

this album surprised me even though i knew what i might be hearing. too bad it doesn't look like he will continue making music quite this way,at least from what i've heard him say recently...

Crossroads was boring. I can only take so much twelve bar blues.

I really don't like any of Mayer's more mainstream music, but his heavy blues stuff is amazing. I wish he would stick with this stuff.

all of mayer's albums should be from his trio. it showcases the talent he actually has.

Johny Mayer might be the greatest blues guitarist in the past 10 years. This guy, if you read his interviews, hates his pop shit and his live albums (and shows) are a testament to his true musical abilities. This man can play, and yes you can play you guitar JM.
