The review is based on the opinions of the author, and it shouldn't be. He kept mentioning the bad drumming and riffs and what not. Technically its just a different style, maybe to him its bad, but i think its pretty good. The review should just straight up talk about what the album contained.

I agree you should mention your opinions in your review about the album but i dont think you should come out saying it sucks because of small elements.

I'm on a quest to make reviews factual while the comments can be left to opinions.

If reviews were 100% factual, then there wouldnt be a point of having more than 1 review of an album on the internet.

It might make things easier. Oh well, my quest is a failure anyways.

Thank you. Everyone has different opinions, so naturally there are going to be people who dislike an album while others love it.

I liked it, but that's just me.

edit: Mostly, I just like his vocals better on this release than on the other ones. On this one, they sound inhuman. On the others, they sound pretty average. This Message Edited On 02.02.06

I may review the reissue of it. I'm not sure if there would be any point though, since it sounds exactly the same.

Shadows, how could you? You make the best reviews on the site, then this?

Meh. It's your opinion. I strongly disagree though.

1.5 is bullshit to me, this is a classic metal album.

As for the "bad production", some people, including me, sometimes like to hear that "crappy" sound. Such as the dbass drumming on this CD, it's almost as if the bass drum is popping every time he hits it, but I like that sound. It's unique. It's not like every other bass drum you hear, it's unique. As for the guitar riffs, there is much worse out there. As for the vocals, this is on the edge of being death metal, and if you listen to bands like Dimmu Borgir, there are much harsher vocals. Metal is Metal for reasons, and harsh vocals is one of them. It's been awhile since I looked at the lyrics, but I remember them being just as intelligent as their newer stuff (namely Ashes of The Wake's Lyrics.)

No. Just no. There are wayyyy too many faults with this album for it to be a classic. I could see your reasoning if you said As the Palaces Burn, because I actually think that that album is.

Name some faults. I don't see any. As the Palaces Burn is overproduced, but still good. I believe lamb-of-god.com itself calls NAG a classic metal album. Not sure though...i'll go check.

AtPB overproduced, you're kidding me right? The production on the album is horrible IMO, the drum, guitar, and vocal tone is terrible. In contrast AoTW is beautifully produced, with the exception of the bass.

compared to NAG and a lot of hardcore albums, AtPB is overproduced.

EDIT: Oh and agreed with the bass...the bass never seems audible with most of Lamb of Gods stuff. This Message Edited On 06.06.06
