I just don't like this cd. I too bought it thinking it would be like there 1991 and present day sound. But what I got was some terrible production, with cheesy cliche funk music. The songwriting is just not up to standards, and most people should agree with that.

That's pretty much why I predominantly dislike the early funk Chili Peppers.

This album is the one that introduced me to the Chili Peppers too.

^^^I agree that a lot of their early stuff is really cheesey, but for some reason I love it, maybe its Flea's poping basslines, or halil slovaks killer riffs?

This is a really great compilation, i'm not familiar with any of the groups earlier albums but i've listened to this plenty of times.

I love the production on many of these older tracks idk, there is an energetic quality to it that feels missing post-BSSM. A very unique era for the group, or any band for that matter really.

I just don't get it, how can people not like funky music? Are those who not like it even people?
