I think this album is his most musically accomplished, utilizing a broad sonic palette that makes the record accessible yet deep.

This does have its moments, although I speak as a fan of Jordan's work rather than an outsider. Bit puzzled as to why a third of the album made the cut though. It's like he just forgot to get rid of some tracks at the end, which is a shame as some bits feel like they are basically unfinished sketches.

Yeah, the comment above summed up my thoughts exactly. This album felt outright lazy at some points. I think it would be much more enjoyable had The Flashbulb taken his time and actually expanded upon the weak snippets present throughout.
Opus is also kind of hard to make yourself listen to in my experience. It isn't something you actively enjoy or find interest in beyond the first three playthroughs. And this is coming from someone who has the patience for a lot of dull ambient music.

I have enjoyed it but it is more because I have fun in the world of Benn's soundscapes than that the album is anything special. I grudgingly give this a 3.
