the self-titled album is the weak link between two better albums because

disagree haaaard

I actually felt In Requiem was by far the weaker of the three

Great review dude.

There's some stuff about their evolution that I don't agree, but it's all about personal opinions.

And speaking of personal opinions: Host and One Second >>>>>> s/t any day. :D

@ rockandmetaljunkie

thanks man, really appreciate it.

If you are referring to what caused the shift in style after Draconian Times it's true.

In interviews for the promotion of One Second, the entire band said how frustrated they were from media over-exposure after the release of Draconian Times.

Not to say about how everyone expected and pushed for a Draconian Times pt2, whereas the band hadn't released the same album until then.

Host and One Second >>>>>> s/t any day. :D

haha I could buy this for One Second, but Host sounds pretty "standard" to my ears to accept it.

Nope, I meant the last paragraph.

I think both this album, and FDU-DUU are meant to close an era and begin smt new, not just some In Requiem evolution or Draconian Times successor. In fact I think One Second seems a much more logical next steep to follow Draconian Times, than an album like this would.

Just my two cents really, I have no evidence coming from the band to support me.

No way, there's not a song on s/t that gives me such shivering moments as Host's title track, Permanent Solution or It's too late.

I'm a big fan of the Host album, one of PL's best IMO but I just love the rocking tracks on the s/t like 'Spirit' and 'All you leave behind' 'Close your eyes' and 'Sun fading' also 'Don't belong' is a superb opening track (all making the album pretty damn good).

I agree that 'One second' was a logical (artistically speaking) follow up to DT.
