I think Daron's just teasing or making a joke track or something. Does this review have 1/4 approval because it's a Hypnotize review?

Exactly what I said in my review. Daron just wanted to make a joke track.

Lonely Day is better than She's Like Heroin, personally. Not exactly a shitty song.

Come to think of it, Lonely Day is the most worstest song on the album.

You know you've had a lonely day when you can't get your grammar right while thinking about your day.

Their soft songs tend to be the stronger tracks.

That could be another reason why my best friend hates this album even though he has only heard "Attack", "Dreaming", "Hypnotize", and "Vicinity of Obscenity". There's more soft tracks on it compared to Mezmerize. This Message Edited On 01.29.06

Soldier side is great, nice and to the "anti war" point.

I was just listening to Stealing Society and I literally had to skip it when Daron started rapping. My ears started bleeding and i attempted to pull them off so that the agony would end.

Ok so thats an exaggeration (or is it an understatement?) but I definitely think that he should refrain from singing as much as possible.

And as for your call on Soldier Side...that is a joke. PLUCK and Aerials were both better outros. Hell, even roulette kicks SS's ass. Why does everyone overrate this song? Its not even that good. Im bored and im never bored when listening to System (even Mind their longest song).

Anyway great review even though i disagree on you in more points than one. For one thing you gave both the singles 5 which is a bit suspect and you didnt give Vicinity, Tentative or Attack 5 - which IMO are the only songs which did deserve 5.

For real System stick to their S/T through to Steal. Songs like Mr Jack, Sugar, Know, Mind, Deer Dance, X, PLUCK, War?, Forest, Chop Suey, Prison Song, Needles and so many more are the definition of System.

Dude Soldier Side's an awesome intro man, it's emotional, great lyrics and guitar is pretty good too.

JTFU, I agree with you on the fact that SOAD's self-titled album, Toxicity, and Steal This Album! are better than Mezmerize/Hypnotize, but their double album is going to be a classic too over the years. Toxicity and Steal This Album! were System of a Down's Dark Side of the Moon and Mezmerize/Hypnotize seems to be The Wall. As for the ratings I gave each songs, not only do I rate by my own opinion on the song, but I also rate how classic the song will be on the album over the years. I think a combination of the two rating systems is a good way to balance it all out. This Message Edited On 01.29.06

Mezmerize and Hypnotize are more main stream friendly than st and steal this album. But I like them both.

Couple things...at first I didn't like Lonely Day. It was to simple for a SOAD song. Then I heard that it was going to be a single and I listened to it more deeply and it turns out that it's not that bad of a song. Secondly Daron isn't "rapping" in Stealing Society, he's singing fast. There's a difference. Good review though. Thank you.

Daron sings fast, but the way he rhymes in that song feels like he's rapping.

matrix - SS is an outro not an intro and barosjn what does JTFU stand for? did u mean STFU? Either way I have revised my rating to a 2. The only reason it gets a 2 is for the pure piece of gold that is Vicinity of Obscenity.

JTFU was my abbreviation for your username. Also, "Soldier Side" is an intro on Mezmerize if you didn't notice. This Message Edited On 01.30.06

Well I meant outro but I know it's an intro too.
