I had a plethora of comments in the original review, but I'll just reiterate by saying excellent review, alright album, and a bunch of stuff against morons who rate albums poorly despite having not listened to it.

Awesome review. You mixed in humor, facts, and seperate songs into your review, excellent work.
I have to disagree with the rating. 50's music gets repetitive fast, and I can't find a way to stay focused while listening to this album.

I think everyone's just rating this a three so they don't look like a bunch of jerks who hate rap.
I don't hate rap, the selling point for me on rap is the lyrics, because in the end that's about the only spot the rapper's have to show their talent. Rappers/Rap Groups like The Roots, 2Pac, and Jay-Z. Actually have some talent and can write some good song's, and The Roots actually play there own instruments.
50 Cent on the other hand, cannot write good lyrics, and even being shot nine times has not stopped him from writing lyrics about killing other people, obviously he still has no gratitude for life. "I've killed so many, oh so many men." I am going off a few tracks from this album, and his singles, so if anyone can give me a track where the lyrical genius kick's in. I will change my mind.

Not really. I rated it a 3 by the standards of commercial rap. For me, it's not a great album, but by commercial standards it holds up. Much of its strength lies in its more aesthetic appeal (quality of production, beats, 50's flow and timbre of voice, etc.)

hmmm, i'd agree to an extent. Rap is heavily lyric-centric but there is still much emphasis on the beats and music.

This I agree to.

Eh, well I rated it a 4 in terms of commercial rap. It is one of the biggest hits in the pop culture world since Britney Spears burst onto the scene. The way this album has so many songs that appeal to the pop audience, makes it a 4/5. Yes some of the tracks may be considered fillers, but the filler to quality track ratio is a lot lower than other pop albums of today. Its flawed, but its not as bad as some of you guys make it out to be.
As I said in the review, if you're not into rap, or you're into oldschool rap, DON'T compare this with it. Rap has 'evolved' so much these days, that comparing rap of old to 50 Cent is pointless. This Message Edited On 02.02.06

Still, in terms of commercially popular rap albums their have been many in the history of rap and in recent years that are far superior to this album. One that comes to mind instantly is Tu Pacs All Eyez On Me. I would rate this album a two based on a few stong, catchy tracks and the hight of popularity it reached to my amazement.

good review, okay album, the vocals pretty much ruin it, I like the backing, but I seriously doubt that he actually wrote it, he probably just bought it. It's seriously a shame that he makes so much money with this.

I'm going to give this a 3, because of the impact it had on the mainstream music scene. If it did so well there, it must have something going for it. However, I do think that the vocals come across a little slurred/mumbled, and that the lyrical content could have been better. I guess I prefer a different style of Hip Hop/Rap.
EDIT: It appears I screwed up the rating. :-/This Message Edited On 02.19.06
