I don't remember digging Contradictions Collapse and Catch Thirtythree all that much

yeah but Contradictions was their first major release so we can cut them some slack with that. I didn't love C33 either but it was still good

Keeping in mind this is stricly my own views:

As much as I love death, they had 4 great albums (from "Human" onwards). Those before are fun, but very immature. You can add the Control Denied album and it makes 5.

Neurosis are a great group, but they had their score of misses. The best album are "Souls At Zero", "Enemy of the Sun", "Silver and Blood" and maybe "The Eye of Every Storm". This make 4 great release

I've never cared for "Contradictions", but since DEI Meshuggah had not one single misstep. I could listen to C33 for the whole day without getting tired (yes, I'm weird). This makes (including Kolossus and I), SEVEN great records in a row, and this one may be the best with C33...

catch 33 doesn't even count. there's no haake, it's a drum machine that haake made. and it sounds weird

Catch 33 is still extremely good regardless of Haakes absence

The drum machine on catch 33 is sampled after Haakes own drumkit, so i can't really see how it would sound weird.

Yeah I agree but that's the genre they get associated with, so I opted to take that point of view.
