These guys have always been one of the better mainstream rock bands, which I guess isnt sayin much but still. Singer can really belt out some notes.

I remember when I saw them open live, their singer kept doing this really annoying thing that we practical made a meme among friends.

It was like after every sentence he sang he stopped had this stunned look on his face and turned his head to left.

The lyrics are still pretty bad at times, but it's decent overall

They are still good songwriters. Pretty much that and Brent Smith makes this better than most mainstream shit.

I'm Not Alright is probably the highlight for me so far.

This still seems pretty hit and miss, but definitely better than the singles indicated.

I was disappointed by the singles they released, but I've enjoyed Shinedown's other efforts, so I'm going into this with an open mind. Decent review.

I listened to only a couple of songs, but it really sounds like a typical radio rock fare. In other words, it's quite lame.

Thought Leave a Whisper was solid, but haven't been inspired to listen to a record by them since. If I ever catch up on my huge music backlog I might try this. pos

Leave A Whisper is their first and best album. After that their records took a sudden dip in quality.

I wish Us and Them got more love. I've always thought it was better than Leave a Whisper.

I mean it has Heroes, Atmosphere, Lady So Divine, Shed Some Light, Begin Again...that album rules hard. One of the most underrated mainstream rock albums out there, which is saying something considering how well-known Shinedown is.

I don't think the songs you mentioned are very good tbh, but to each his own.
