3.5/5 and a grower? or just a basic 3.5?

Excellent review, pos.

Will check this asap.

Congrats for another well deserved feature.

Edit:

I won't say the vocals are mediocre, but I will say that they are an acquired taste.

On my first listen I thought the vocals were nothing special, but then they clicked with me and now I feel they are the strongest aspect of the album. Davis has this uncanny ability to convey profound emotions while making you scared shitless at the same time.

I do love her, I need to get involved with a female singer...if you know what I mean. Originally, I wanted to get a female singer for my band, but I dealt with too many flakes; so, I decided to take over. It sounds good and we are ready to hit the road! But I agree, we need more badass females in metal. And hey, and kudos on the feature!

Thanks. Dude imagine yourself pairing with a hot female singer. This is an immensely cool idea. You'd succeed in next to no time regardless of her vocal abilities. Haha.

And I'll repeat this: the track you linked me rules face!

Man, I want to hook up with one so bad. That is my mission from now on. If I had a talented, hot female songwriter/singer, my life would be complete and the possibilities endless. And thanks man, I appreciate it, I am really excited about it. I can't wait to get this 3 song ep recorded, and go on a little southern tour, it is in the works! Feel free to promote Destroyer of Light!

Excellent review. If you want a better version of this band, I would suggest listening to Slough Feg or Dawnbringer, they were doing this type of NWOBHM long before these guys.

I found it decent but after two or three spins, the vocals in particular were awful.

The most peculiar thing, her vocals on the first Christian Mistress album are much much better.

Imho, some time is needed to get used to them in this one tho.

Her vocals is hit or miss imo... But the album has some interesting guitar riffs that some of the "big bands" can't write anymore...

Dawnbringer are cool, but still this is a bit better imo because of the vocals. I haven't checked out Slough Feg yet.

Slough Feg is the best band that does this kind of music

Vocals are meh for me, if she had a more soaring voice like Rob Halford it'd probably be great. Instrumentally it's awesome though.

Great guitars. I do like the singer's voice, but I'm not sure that this music wouldn't sound better with a more "typical" male vocalist.

I guess I wouldn't like it so much with conventional soaring heavy metal vocals. The restrained, contemplative singing makes their music unique in my opinion.
