Elliott Smith has been a relatively recent musical discovery for myself. I remember looking through a copy of NME in my first year at university sat in a friend's room.

figure 8 is my favorite album so i'm a bit biased but i do think the production is very well done there. if there's an overproduced elliott smith album its probably basement

Yeah Figure 8 is awesome. Basement is probably my least favorite but it does have a few great songs like Coast To Coast, Twilight, and Kings Crossing.
