I'd settled on believing you were a troll, but I think this indicates you're not.
This is not a bad review at all. But you could do with being slightly less familiar at times, for instance:
Let's not kid ourselves, Max IS the band
would read better as
Let's not kid ourselves; Max Bemis IS this band.
The first part's fine, even though it sounds conversational, but the second part sounds like you're just chatting to a mate and it doesn't really work.
Anyhow yeah.
