'Ego' is this kind of lo-fi tech house beat with a real subtle groove to it
just seems like burial had to have something to do with that cause it doesn't sound that much like four tet
oy baseline -- you still diggin massive attack vs burial?

You think Bevan played a big hand in a tech house joint? It makes more sense to me that in pairing up with Bevan again, Keiran was inspired to create something a touch more subdued and mystical, not to mention that he was making a beat deliberately designed to have vocals laid down on them so it's not like he's going toget too carried away with sonic trickery

not as big a hand as he played with 'mirror' but i don't think hebden could have come up with anything near as dynamic as 'ego' without a lot of help

i listen to 'there is love in you' pretty often and heard 'rounds' a few times. i keep meaning to spin 'fabriclive' but people keep throwing recs at me so i haven't yet. gonna see him for the second time in a couple weeks which should be good times. why?

When you said that you felt as if he obviously had had help to create something as dynamic as 'Ego' my first thought was that you obviously haven't listened to him before

bad thought (*2, seriously tater, tet's pretty fantastic). happens to everyone though so don't sweat it
edit: http://rollingstone.com/music/songreviews/ego-20110404 -- rolling stone seems to think it's burial's lows in ego as well
btw. i mean, it doesn't sound much at all like a pure four tet track

i guess that's about right. he's pretty consistent though and puts on a really good show though

They also seem to think that Yorke did the beats

(shrugs). to me the lows on 'ego' sound like they got a lot more burial than they do four tet, but i mean, i'd love to interview bevan and find out. sat through a hebden interview and he just sounded like he was in the middle of an acid trip.
