Deviant, if you ever publish a book on the history of dubstep, I'll totally buy it.

@Dev, I agree with your first part. CHRONOLOGICALLY, those musicians would be considered "post"

dubstep, but we're not talking chronology, we're talking style. James Blake is even radically

different from the originals like Rusko and Skream. I would still call Blake and Kimbie post, because

they simply incorporate much more into it than original dubstep. That's why you call Explosions in the

Sky and Mogwai post-rock. They're rock, but with more influences added in. You just can't call it

"rock" anymore.

Music isn't sciene?! Are you fucking kidding me?!

And Converge is not metalcore.

Yeah, man. If you think genre classifications have to be so loose that Converge has to be called metalcore, then I see where you're coming from.

How so?

I would still call Blake and Kimbie post, because
they simply incorporate much more into it than original dubstep.

Bringing in more influences doesn't automatically make you a new genre, especially when the genre was influenced by others to begin with

And yes, they are

The title track gives me a boner. Other two tracks are alright, but that first step is a doozy.

Is that for me? Cause . . . I know. That's the point I'm trying to make.

So you were trying to make the point that different-sounding artists can be in the same genre?

@Dev, you negged my review didn't you? -__- "Post" whatever arguments aside, can you honestly say this is a bad review?

I don't think it's a great review, but it's by no means bad. I'm not childish enough to neg something I disagree with, just childish enough to argue about it at length afterwards ;)

I pos'ed it, Mr. Miller. I mean, Mill3r. Good writing. One typo I noticed: "he’s rarely step foot in." Should be "stepped."

But here's a question for you though

Thought that might happen. But I've seen enough people vouch for it, that I'm willing to go along . . .

Are you really just going off what other people are saying?

As far as calling it Post-dubstep? I mean . . . yeah. Why not? I'm not going to come up with a new name, but what I've heard from others on what it means sounds good to me.

Just stopping by to announce that I think Explosions in the Sky is crap. We can call them "post-turd" for all I care.
