It has the intelligence and craftsmanship of Oceansize with a 90s leaning alternative rock twist.

Hmm I can kinda feel it. Not sure there's much crossover with Oceansize (am getting much more Shellac/Jesus Lizardy posthxc) and not a huge fan of the grunge vox, but they've got something. How does Lula compare?

I prefer Lula to this. They're pretty similar, but Lula doesn't really have the semi-lame slower tracks like Top of the World and Stoned (or anything like Spook the Herd which is basically a reprise of an earlier track)
The uptempo, mathy shit is definitely what these guys do best, and I'd say there's a bit more of it on Lula. That one also has a different drummer and he's a beast, though the drumming on here is great too.

Nice, agreed that the slower cuts here aren't the greatest - hyped to hear it. I dig the drummer here quite a bit tbh, interesting that he signed on later

I've always felt like this is Post hardcore's own "Marquee Moon".

mmmyes. reminds me oddly of unwound - murder movies and a lot of that era's vibe, but i can see a whole lot of other links there. big banger!

Pills sounds like a fucking panic attack in the best way. Easily a highlight here
"feels like finding these guys and hum had basically mapped the trajectory of my listening for the next few years"
Add Failure to this and you have sort of the holy trinity of spacey alt rock bands that you should get into around the same time. At least that's how it happened for me

This band is playin in my town this weekend lmao
One of my friends is like half/half on going because he’s mostly hoping to hear this material as opposed to the new album that they’re more likely to play

oh yeah, forgot there was a new one lol
go + persuade your mate + report back! they've got enough bangers that one extra recent album won't set things off too much
