I love Summerteeth (the track), easily one of the most underappreciated songs in their catalogue. Why won't they make more stuff with jangly guitar playing? It sounds beautiful. In fact, why aren't there more bands in general that make music like that? Were The Sundays really the last band to make chimey, melodic guitar music? And why do so many guitarists claim to be influenced by Johnny Marr (the king of this style) and not show even the slightest shred of it in their playing?
Someone help me. I need more music like this.
Anyway, this is a great album, but I think the live versions of these songs are a lot better (like Via Chicago, Shot in the Arm, etc.) This album seems to lack a bit of punch, I guess, so I prefer the live arrangements.

I bought this because I liked the catchy "Always in Love" synth line. I listened to the rest of the album and thought "Meh..."
Ten years later, I put this on and go "These songs are fuckin' gold! What the hell's-a-matter with me?!"
I'm still not sure.
